Boasting on God's Creativity through My Hands
I hope this doesn't sound boastful...sometimes, no every time I create something through writing, painting, sketching, I'm awestruck at the abilities God has given me. Not that I'm ALL THAT, but I never think I can accomplish the project I'm working on. I have little talent, but when I give my desire and my hands to the Lord, He moves them in the direction He wants them to go. He virtually paints, draws, writes through my hands. It's the only possible way I can explain the outcome of my efforts. I'm small and insignificant, but God is GREAT all ways, always.
Wednesday, I posted on my other blog about living a sheltered life. To sum up the point of the article I used a simple prayer my granddaughter made up (read it here). I had a photo of the child I wanted to sketch. I asked the Lord to guide my hands and was overjoyed in the results. Again, not that I did it, but that HE guided my hands.

I admit I have little creative talent,
But we can never exhaust God's Creativity...tap into it!

Creator's Psalm
- The Lord is my Creator, I shall not worry about the finished vessel which He is creating.
- He molds me into the shape He desires of me.
- He sands me with abrasive materials for my own good.
- He mends my imperfections and paints me with the brightness of His righteousness.
- His signature is on me.
- Even if He must break me and start over, I will not fuss or be afraid.
- His chisel and His brush are comforting to me.
- He prepares His easel and palette before me.
- He places me in the kiln and fires me with intense heat to purify me.
- He is the Master of Creation and makes me into what is pleasing to Him.
- He created me for His good purpose and filled me with His Spirit.
- Surely I will bare the likeness of His Son for His ingenious hands are upon me all of my days.

So Do It
"To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it." ~Kurt Vonnegut.
Many people feel they have no creative ability whatsoever. Yet, we all perform many creative tasks throughout our day. My husband, for example, loves to cook. What he does with crabcakes, grilled chicken, and pasta definitely fall into the creative aspect of life. He even presents his entrees with pizzazz. He is a food artist.
Some people are creative in problem solving. Others flourish in organization. Still others find unique ways to entertain guests.
Not the "creative" arts, you say.
Really?
Creativity comes in many packages. Just take a stroll through a craft store. Not everyone likes paints, brushes, and canvases (my personal aisle). Not everyone excels in music or in the performing arts either. But we all have a niche to release our creative flow. God handed us each a cupful of creativity to make our souls grow.
What's your niche? How have you been using it to glorify God?
See you in a twinkling,
Brenda
